For the 2021 tax year, taxpayers who take the standard deduction can additionally deduct up to $300 for cash donations paid to a charity.  This additional $300 deduction is per person, so if filing a joint return, this additional deduction can total $600 on top of the standard deduction on a  2021 tax return.
